Cllr Haughey said, “Those who write and draw graffiti on our road signs have little to be doing and their actions have serious consequences which the culprits probably don’t even consider.
“All road signs are in place for a reason – either for safety or directional purposes. They should not be canvasses for graffiti.
“Most people have pride in their own areas and do not welcome this type of vandalism, especially that of a sectarian nature, as it can give people the wrong impression of an area. It also can cause a distraction for drivers hence decreasing the effectiveness of road safety signs.
“I have asked Road Service to remove all graffiti from Road Signs across the Cusher area. In some cases this may mean erecting new signs so I would urge those responsible to cease this activity.”
