Cllr Haughey who arranged the meeting said, “We held a very positive and useful meeting to discuss the potential for funding for signage at Mountnorris Community Centre.
“This was something I had raised sometime ago at council and I am grateful for the time council officers have taken to explore the various different funding opportunities for this project.
“I was delighted to welcome two representatives from the Mountnorris Community Association to the Palace Demense to discuss matter in detail.
“The Millennium Hall in Mountnorris is a well used community facility and will be used for the forthcoming elections in May. However there have been concerns about the current lack of signage at the centre and it will be very important that the centre is well signposted for the election.
“Plans are now being progressed to erect new signage at the Hall and I am very pleased by this outcome.
“At our meeting we also discussed other possibilities for funding various projects at the centre and I hope that through Council Officials we will be able to progress these plans in the months ahead.”
