Speaking on Monday night at Council Cllr Sharon Haughey said, "I have been approached by residents and land owners who are extremely frustrated by this long running problem whereby lands surrounding Lowry's Lake are completely saturated with flooding.
"This is a very serious issue for land owners in the area which has been a problem for very many years now which is affecting agricultural land, affecting residential sceptic tanks and now also the road.
"I believe it is important that Armagh Council facilitates an urgent meeting so that a resolution can finally be found here. I also recommend that Armagh Council writes to the Department of Agriculture to request the Drainage Council to intervene to take action to clear the flooding."
Armagh Council Chief John Briggs highlighted that there is a lengthy file in Council on this situation and agreed to Councillor Haughey's request with the aim of resolving this complex issue.
