SDLP Cusher Councillor Sharon Haughey-Grimley is encouraging property owners in Markethill and Tandragee to apply for Armagh Council's Spruce Up Fund for derelict buildings.
Cllr Haughey-Grimley said, "We can all see the real difference that has been made in Armagh City when derelict buildings are improved and transformed into attractive sites showing potential developers the potential of these sites.
"This initiative also helps property owners tidy up their derelict properties at a time when money is tight.
"I am delighted that the Spruce up Grant is now available to businesses in our rural towns including Markethill and Tandragee. I hope these grant will help improve the look and feel of these towns and ensure that everyone has pride in our rural towns which are so important to the rural community."
Applications are invited from commercial property owners and tenants to apply for grant assistance to undertake minor works to enhance building frontages within the 30mph zones in Markethill and Tandragee.
Grant of up to £750 per property is available. Projects must be completed by Monday 30th June 2014
