Sadie lost her three sons in January 1976, when gunmen entered her home and shot John Martin, Brian and Anthony. Her sons were innocent victims of the troubles.
Speaking this morning after hearing the news of Sadie's passing Cllr Haughey-Grimley said, "Sadie Reavey was an inspiration to all of us. After three of her sons were murdered in her home, Sadie and her husband Jimmy, forgave and prayed for their sons killers. She was a woman of true peace and an example to all of us. She carried her heavy cross with great dignity and respect and now in her late years I pray that she will be reunited with her three sons in heaven.
"My thoughts are with Sadie's family at this time. I have no doubt that her light will continue to shine in Whitecross through her family, her grandchildren and all of us who knew her. May she now Rest in Peace."
