Lord Mayor Haughey hosted a reception for the Charles Wood Summer School who celebrate their eighteenth anniversary.
The Lord Mayor commented “I am delighted to host this reception for the Charles Wood Summer School which is one of Armagh’s main events in the Arts Calendar and attracts thousands of people to the City and District of Armagh each year. This success of this school would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment from the volunteers of the committee.” Lord Mayor of Armagh City and District Council Sharon Haughey has shown her support for ‘Art on the Rails’ which took place in Market Square in Armagh on Saturday. Speaking in Market Square Lord Mayor Haughey said, “Art on the Rails is a terrific initiative which showcases local artists and locally produced art pieces. It’s great to see Market Square transformed into an Arts hub, full of colour and interest. “The collection of paintings on display really emphasis the talent of local art enthusiasts from across this City and District. It’s also very commendable that Armagh Art Club have organised this event, with all proceeds going to charity. “I congratulate all involved in organising this impressive event and I hope this will become an annual feature as part of the Blues Festival in Armagh City.” |
