Cllr Haughey said, "Every election, someone loses their vote because they have not registered, or maybe not applied for a postal or proxy vote, and some are turned away from polling stations because they don't have the proper ID.
"It is very important that everyone uses their vote to support the candidate that will best represent them in Westminster. I believe a vote for the SDLP is a vote worth making. In Newry and Armagh Dominic Bradley will be the candidate and I urge voters from across the constituency to vote for him.
"I also encourage voters to vote SDLP across all constituencies, including Alasdair McDonnell in South Belfast, Margaret Ritchie in South Down and Mark Durkan in Foyle."
